our Christmas letter?

As it has now become New Years Eve and soon Day my heart and eyes swell as it also marks the one year passing of my sweet and sassy Fancy. Many things make me tear up and memories are constantly coming back to me. which of course also triggers memories and feelings of and for J, whose brithday and passing come in the same week only a few months away. Ha Ha, I am how many lines in to this blog and already barely able to see the screen? I ache often for both of them. However it does make me look over the past year. Please take this blog as a detailed Christmas letter to all our friends and family...
The house got completely sided, all the windows in, grass in, our beautiful new fence (and all the drama from our neighbor however we still need to 45 that corner.) and our beautiful planter boxes in. We had the Gevas's stay with us twice earlier in the year which was so nice. We had 2 weddings from each of our longest friends, first was Kyle to Myra in the end of March and the second was Emily to Tom in July. Naomi turned 3 and we had a fun sprinkler party for her. She is such a jem, our big helper girl and the best big sister to Paige.

Miss Paige has been growing like babies do. Such a girl, loves to cuddle, loves baby dolls and simply her little way of being just screams girlly! She is just really starting to walk and for Christmas she got her first pair of shoes, they are a size big but not for long im sure. It took her a minute to figure it out, like a horse wearing wraps or boots for the first time but I think she likes them. For her birthday we went to Train Town. Will be much funner next time when she can walk and run.

My friend Brianna, "Bonna", also has been coming over once a week to play with the girls and we take advantage of her help and try to do things that I wouldn't want to do by my self like going to Pump It Up, the bounce house place, or the beach or even just to Howerth Park. Its nice that her weekends are during the week. Both girls just love her. Her and her sister watched the girls in July while Keith and I went zip lining through the redwoods for our 10 years together anniversary thing. Then just a few weeks ago Brianna took on both girls so Keith and I could attend The Tide Christmas party. I came in the door and Paige was so excited to see me but after I held her for only a couple minutes she wanted Bonna again. Both girls just love her. Naomi get SOOOOOO excited when she knows shes coming over. We are more than blessed to have her in our lives. (Top, we are at salmon creek, bottom we are at the Discovery Museum, our other friend Caitlin joined us there too.)

Keith has really gotten in to fishing even more so this year. Rock fish stand no chance and he even cought 4 or 5 salmon a couple 26-30 pounders to which we got dinner and Keith and Kyle turned an old refridgerator in to a smoker so we have had some delishish smoked salmon that has been such a hit. Keith also filled up his abalone card for the first time ever. We have also had so much crab! in the first week of crab season we had it 3 times... oh man,and have had it a few times since. Keith, Bob, Jon and Kyle have also been taking 2 broke boats (Jon's old boat and Keith's dad's boat motor and electrical) and making one working boat. They have recently taken her out and now are just working out the little things that are bound to come up. This will just make next years fishing awesome! slaying everything, every time! I even got Keith a 120 quart ice chest so he can stop borrowing Jon's and be able to fill it with all the goods from the ocean. On top of Kayak and boat fishing Keith has been getting in to spear fishing. I really need to get better at cooking fish =/
We have also realised that our Camry is just too small for our growing family and while we were not exactly ready for it we found some deals on what we were looking for that we just couldn't pass up. This winter we will be putting a Dodge Cummins Deisel engine in to a Land Cruiser. This will make the car go from getting about 12-15 miles per gas gallon to about 25-30 miles per deisel gallon AND will just be freaking awesome so score all around. It is be big enough for the family and can tow when we need it. Win-win!
This November we joined my parents at a beach house in Gualala for the week of Thanksgiving. It was nice. The girls had fun. The bummer was the ocean had some swell so Keith's hope for diving every day didn't happen and then my parents mutated a common cold in to, what ended up being in my mom a really bad sinus infection and my dad got walking pneumonia so that was fun. The drive up there Naomi threw up 3 times and when we stopped and got out to walk around a bit Ozzy found something to roll in... luckily it wasn't too bad but still, stinky dog and the smell of throw up was just joyful for the last 20 minutes of the trip. haha. We just laughed it off and were SO thankful it wasn't raining too. On the way back we had 3 outfits and towels and everything for her and she didn't need any of it at all thankfully.
Chrsitmas came and went so crazily... oh dear. I think the fact that it has been in the mid to high 60s and no real rain storm has made it feel like Easter was on its way instead of Christmas. We also did have out 2 year anniversary with this house. It for sure has been a wild ride with it.

The day we got the keys

2 years later

It's funny as I go through my pictures I realize we have done a lot this year, beach, armstrong woods, picking and pressing apples, the discovery museum, each fun holiday, kite flying, golfing, the county fair, science fair and just the every day stuff that becomes special because of the 2 little girls I share it with.

As I close I want to express that I love each day, trail and year as it helps us to be better people, or rather I should say, gives us the opportunity to grow to be better people. I love having the groups of friends that we have in our lives at this time, family, car, church and the good oldies (in time known, not in age). We don't all see eye to eye on everything but the fact of the matter is: that would be lame, we can grow and get different insight to things from different life styles and that is what makes this world and relationships so awesome, its how we accept those differences, it is not our place to judge the right or wrong of another, unless there is an obvious no-no like killing some one for fun, robbing a bank for your drug addiction, putting a cold hand on your back in the winter, eating the last scoop of ice cream... all just horrible things... ;). But in all seriousness I am tried often with this because I have many friends that have different views on everything from politics, baby raising, family structure, religion, agriculture and so on, even with some of my very dear friends, but most of us are able to agree to disagree and that makes those relationships so much better. Looking forward to another year to become a better me.

Much love and happiness to all this new year.
