Saturdays are fun

So Saturdays, especially sunny and lovely ones, we try to be productive. A few Saturdays ago Keith made the garage in to a painting station. The first customer was his first car, that has gone through a few owners since, "the tooth". After a long day of prep and painting I had my first, yes first, babysitting job ever. haha. As many of you know I was never a baby/child person. I always animal sat. Yes Naomi was my first diaper change and all. laugh it up. But we all survived! We had T and Ammon from 7 until about 11 so Ryan and Lora could go on an anniversary date, awww.

The Boston Whaler and Calvin's car, I mean our car, I mean Calvin's car- no wait OUR car haha.

Setting up the painting booth

Covering the floor

Think we like crappy looking Nissian 240s? Count 'em one, two, three and that's with out Kyle's car!

Half Bath now like 95% done

Ok so we got the floor and sheet rock done, window in and everything painted, well..... the whole place was looking pretty clean and then there was the vanity... An eye sore and just depressing looking. This is the transformation from trash to pretty.

See what I mean? YUCK!

Window framed, and since then painted.

Top gone

Vanity in the family room

Yeah more ghetto of our house. Kyle was just going to run the plumbing in the wall like normal but there where already pipes in the way from the stupid wet bar, that in the end will be gone, but since it was going to be such a pain...

We just piped it out side...

and made a little shelf thing...

an enclosed shelf thing so you don't see the piping

Sheet rock fixed and primered

Ok this is why I LOVE craigslist. Our house has very clean sharp lines and so we wanted to find a boxy sink. Well we did, at Home Depot for $210 before tax. Shoot me. We would have bought it but they didn't have it in store so we were going to have to order off line. Well Kyle reminded me to check craigslist, DUH! I live on craigslist, why haven't I checked there?! Yeah so the EXACT sink from Home Depot was listed a few days previous. It was still available. In north Petaluma. FOR $75!!! In the end that probably saved us about $150. But that's not all, it didn't come with a faucet. I don't know about you but I think its ridiculous to have to spend over $100 to get a semi decent looking bathroom sink faucet and some go up to a grand! That's stupid, it's a faucet people! AND you still have to buy more plumbing parts on top of that. Back to craigslist. Found a guy selling a sink with faucet and all the additional plumbing for $60 obo. I said $40, he said $50, I said I really only need the faucet, he caved. Another screaming deal!!! Just the additional plumbing was going to be around $20-30 and we got EVERYTHING for $40! The faucet looks like a $130-150 faucet and then the extra $20 for the plumbing. We paid $115 for the whole set up, sink faucet and plumbing, by buying used instead of spending close to $300 or more! I. Love. Being. Thrifty! I totally get a rush on knowing I'm getting an amazing deal.

So here's the finished product and this sink is HUGE! It was only maybe 2 inches smaller than that ugly vanity that was there.

So we pretty-fied the door too =)

Finished product. No we didn't replace the door and yes there are still holes on both sides but it still looks awesome!

This is the door going in to the garage and how all the doors look. Over time we are going to convert all the doors in the house to look like the half bath door. Which matches our windows. I think it looks so so so much better than this, Kyle Boardman is awesome, we are very thankful to have him with us.

So what's left? I ordered- off Ebay, my other favorite place to shop, matching square toilet paper holder and towel ring. They will be here at the end of the week or beginning of the following. We will then probably make a wall cabinet for above the toilet to store TP, wash clothes and miscellaneous toiletries. And probably use the doors from the old yucky vanity since I had already painted them. Then get, probably some dark navy blue, wash clothes and hang some art so you have something pretty to look at haha.

Naomi stories and happenings

So I just felt like I should shout out to my little girl. She has been talking so much and getting better with little sentences "Bye Kye/Daddy" "More crackers/milk/juice" "cheese please" and her favorite "I do it/ I did it". We have been trying to do more play groups with the other young families in our ward (church) and its been helping her break out and be more social.

If you're laying down shell bring you a pillow and blanket, pat you some times, kiss you and say either nap or night night. So cute.

She loves to color how ever the other day she was caught coloring on the stairs (not the carpet ones the ones going in to the living room) She was sternly told that we don't do that and we ONLY color on our coloring paper. Well later that evening we were at families house and the kids were playing in another room. Naomi came out, found me and said her form of the word "coloring". The parents didn't seem to concerned but when we went and checked on them 5 minutes later there was coloring everywhere! I started to scold her and she gave me her lip (pouty lip) but then we found out from another child that she probably didn't do any of it, she had come out to tell me they were doing something wrong, yes my child is a tattle tale. Saying I felt horrible is an understatement. She had remembered from earlier that day and knew it was wrong and I immediately started to scold her for doing what was right. I apologized and told her how good she was.

We have also started (yes a little late but shhhh) saying prayers at night. She loves to do them. She learned the word "prayers" very fast and when were done asks for more and more with a big ol' smile on her face. Shell fold her arms but she also likes to get her face an inch from yours when you're saying them with a curious big happy smile on. When were done shell say "yay!" and throw her arms in the air. It's pretty freaking cute.

The other day she had thrown up randomly when I was busy cooking dinner and came running to me saying "mess, mess" and brought me to it.

She has also found toilet paper. Shes never really left alone with it but shes allowed one or two squares to drop in the toilet and she waves bye to it as it gets flushed.

She has also started helping me unload the dish washer. I'll give her cups to bring over to me from the top shelf and then, after I get all the sharp knives and such shell bring me the rest of the silverware one by one and so we are learning fork and spoon and knife, fork is the easiest one.

Here are a few pictures of my little lady

She found an old New Years Hat of mine and is kind of obsessed with it

Enjoying the sun waiting for daddy to come home.

Went grocery shopping and came home to this, Keith had his eyes closed but I think heard me when I was grabbing my camera. So cute seeing them all snuggled up <3
