My Kitchen is DONE!!!! for now ;)

Yes, yes I finally have a complete, functioning kitchen!!! Mainly because we had our first bank inspection and the kitchen HAD to be done haha but I'm stoked. I think boys work better with a dead line and they have been working! (and if you don't remember or didn't catch my last blog when I say "boys" I mean Keith and Kyle, Kyle showed up 2 weeks ago and it has been awesome to have him here living with us for multiple reasons) Last time I blogged the kitchen needed to have some of its sheet rock fixed, sheet rock painted, counter in, sink and garbage disposal in and working, dish washer in and working, slider framed in and cabinets finished. Lots to do and its all DONE! The funny thing is just about all of it is going to get torn out when we remodel the kitchen haha. But anyways, Sam started the sheet rock, Kyle finished it, I painted, Keith and Kyle got the counter top in, Kyle got the sink and everything working and did framing around the slider and Keith painted the slider. The sink was by far the craziest with cabinets slightly different than the old ones, crappy saw blades, dirt, bugs, old nasty stuff ugh. Kyle and I were completely grossed out and laughing all at the same time. I could sit here and tell you the play by play and try to think of clever sentences to amuse, but instead I'm just going to post pictures. Since there is still more to blog about.... =)

Sheet rock started

Sheet rock done

Getting ready to cut down the big pre made formica counter top

first piece in.....

second getting attached....

aaaaaaand there in!!!

When it gets quiet and your toddler isnt sleeping you better go find them. No that's not flour thats sheet rock powder... for some reason we couldnt keep her out of it, thankfully she didnt really eat any just played in it.

getting ready to put this huge sink in, we were able to reuse the one that was already here. When removing the faucet dozens of baby pincher bugs came pouring out. soooo gross! and then the dishwasher catcher thing had old food in it super yucky gross. Thank YOU Kyle for being the man and handling all that for me!

getting ready to cut the sink hole out

Yeah all that smoke... not suppose to happen. And the sparks that you cant see in this picture also- not suppose to happen... some adjustments were made when the cabinet was fixed that caused some difficulties for putting the sink in but it all worked in the end.

as you can see the sink is in and fits.

getting ready to paint

so here is the slider, sheet rock done, painted but still not framed...

Alla-Ka-Zam! framed and painted! if it were only that easy haha. The picture doesnt do it justice but this door is sooo amazingly gorgeous its stupid! It makes the kitchen and every time I walk in the kitchen I just love how it turned out and it just makes the rest of the kitchen look fantastic!

My fully functioning kitchen, with window sill even though you cant really see it in this picture.

The bank inspector came and everything went well as far as we know. He had come out to see the property before we bought it, apparently, needless to say he was impressed. He kept saying how horrible the house was and its nice to see it coming back to life. And really this house is becoming something awesome. I am finally getting those new home owner happy feelings since up until recently this house has been just a bunch of half done projects and using that tiny, tiny wet bar sink for a kitchen sink just sucked but I am finally walking around my house and simply happy. I'm sure the 70-75 degree weather we have been having the past few days has helped too and the fact that on monday we got the part that fixed the TV and we have been watching movies every night lounging around on our HUGE sectional just like I imagined. It's hard not to smile. Life is always good, even when it sucks, but sometimes there is no denying just HOW good life is. (I just want to add I don't say these things to brag or rub noses or show off I'm just keeping record and sharing with those who care to read about our Rusty house. It's a lot of work and we have been so incredibly blessed with everything and have learned so much from this whole process and not just construction wise. We truly thank EVERYONE who has been apart of this project with us.)
