Amazing Weekend and I love my husband

Yesterday evening with the kitchen slider open because the weather was wonderful, still warm from the day with a pleasent breeze blowing, Keith and Naomi were playing a variety of games, frisbee (or as Naomi calls it, flying disc), golf and catch, Paige was sitting in her bouncer by the slider frusterated that she couldn't run and jump and play with them and myself preparing one of my favorite quick and easy recipes I found on pinterest (seriously go make it now: http://madeitateitlovedit.blogspot.com/2012/03/sweet-and-sour-chicken.html) I took a moment to aknowledge the blissful happiness that we had. Yes were in the 'suburbs' and while we have one of the largest lots in the neighborhood its still not THAT big, considering our love and need for country living but even when I lived at home with the land, and my parents really do have a little piece of heaven, with both my horses there were only a few times where I felt that but it was different. It was after a long day playing with J and Fanc relaxing on the deck with Coco, that was bliss. This was different, I wouldn't say better because to travel back in time to a day with those 3 would be pretty awesome. However being in this home, that we had to do far more work just to get paperwork going than we should have, put up with all the crap we did, do all the work we did and the stress and drama that it brought. To be in this home and to know how far we have brought it in 17 months is stupid. To see my husband playing with our toddler attempting to teach her how to do things with her counting correctly before she threw the "flying disc" and cracking up when she missed it is pretty awesome. Keith works so hard at a job that doesn't appreciate him. Works on a never ending project house (yes its what we signed up for and yes that is was home ownership is but you can't say that this house wasn't a little more than what we were expecting...) And still is as loving and wanting to spend time with all of us even though he's so tired and beat up. To hear and watch him play with Naomi is priceless, he couln't possibly be a better father. Naomi, 3 years old in about a month, is more than I could ever imagine. She's way too excited about her birthday, she constantly tells me she wants a birthday cake, pinata and balloons. oh and a candle. She also wants her "friends" which are her cousins, however most of them are in Utah... She keeps seeing pictures from Easter of everyone and wants them all to come back. She tells me she loves me. She comes up to Paige, hugs the top of her head and says "i just love you Paige" or if shes crying shell softly say "I'm here Paige, it's ok, I'm right here" or shell want to hold her and I'll ask why and her answer: I just have to! I love her mommy. But she's just perfect. She cuddles, she makes "deals", shes getting her self on the potty and then calls us. Ever since Kyle and Myra's wedding she has turned girl! Loves pretty dresses, wants to watch "girl movies" and so on. Oh dear! And then there's miss Paige. 5 months shes been in 6 month clothes for a few weeks haha. Teething, I can see the top and bottom two under the skin but last night I saw the right bottom one making some more headway than the others, yes we were up every hour last night *yawn* Shes like half way or a little better for rolling over and sitting on her own. She use to roll alright but lately she doesn't. She really just wants to crawl, walk and run with Naomi skip the other stuff. But it's not just Naomi that makes her want to be mobile its the animals, she LOVES the animals! And recently she's really in to Keith, the other day she wouldn't even smile for Naomi but daddy walks in and he gets a grin. I guess I could go on and on about them but after some adorable pictures lets switch things up and talk HOUSE!!!

Sitting up and looking so pretty!

Sisters, had to snap to keep Paige from looking at her toes =)

Love these two!

She's so great.

Ok so the house... finally ALL the windows are in! I didn't realise though the window in our shower now means that we can't use our shower.... until when? until we do the bathroom remodel... *sigh* but it needed to happen to finish the siding. Then in the vanity part there was a window with that hideous old yellow/brown beveled(?) restraunt glass, it didn't open, it was just fugly. Well its gone! the amount of light we get is awesome, and clean, clear light not dirty light. It also opens which will be sooooo nice come summer. Then Saturday we couln't get a full team but we got Jerom and that was awesome, they got that north side of the house 99% done!!!! It was 2/3 done before they started from a previous saturday of Keith Jerom Jake and Spencer but its so close! We just have the tippy top, 2 board on the front and the triangle on the east side and then, ladies and gentlemen, we will be done! Well with putting it up then its calking and painting. I think well take a breather on the actual house to work on the backyard! The girls and I need a yard. Its getting so close too. Lots of work but at least we have gotten to the part where we can actually start in on it.

Yup no showering in our bathroom, handy that we have the hall bathroom.

Only one more piece at the top!!!! Doesn't it look fantastic?

Finally a house update!!

So it's been a while since there has been much to blog about with the house... Slowly a little more siding got put on here and there. And finally there was a huge push to finish the front with our scaffolding leaving. We scrambled to get as much done as we could but the day it was leaving we still had a couple more hours of work. Little did brother Sam know this when he called Keith up with some car questions and got roped in to help in exchange for Keith's car knowledge.

And with that (and aside from 3 peices) the front is done. I was about to have a heart attach seeing this and Anne you might have too, however we both aren't widows yet!

Then for Christmas my dad "gave" us a back yard fence! He would provide the lumber and do the work unless we wanted to do it ourselves, but with everything else we have going on we more than willingly took him up on his work. So as the new year has come in he has come over a few days a week for a few hours and started getting a fence up. What is nice is that from the papers we got in buying the house it gave the fence laws on set back from the road and we are actually able to increase our back yard quite a bit! Awesome. And we also can have our exsisting "fence" up while we put up the new one so we aren't completely open to the world. The house is looking like something and now we are baracading our selves in! When its all said in done the people who buy our house will have NO IDEA how horrible it was.

Putting in the posts.

Making them straight.

SOOOO much more room!!

45 degree angle around the corner.

Some latice type stuff on the inside to let a vine grow up easy or perhaps certain veggies.

Working away with Dio and Ozzy supervising.

ringing in the new year

Looking for a distraction I go on Facebook this morning with status updates of joy and great comings and hopes for 2013 for pretty much every status. I get to start the new year 9 hours in watching my beautiful horse die in front of my eyes. Happy freaking new year......

Backing up less than 24 hours

At just before 11am December 31st my dad calls says Fancy is down and had been for a while the way she was covered in mud and just lying there. He gets her up and comes in to call me. We decided to have him bring her over from the back pasture to the barn. I rush and get Naomi and myself dressed in record time. I was just changing Paige as he calls again she fell and wont get up. EFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. I made there in record time, threw the girls at my mom, threw on rubber boots and most literally ran out to her. She was down, shivering a bit, breathing heavy. we tried to get her up and she wouldn't. called the vet who had just gone to lunch but was going to call me back asap. She nosed her stomach, ok so were probably dealing with colic (a blockage in the intestine or worse case her intestine got twisted around its self) My dad and I kept trying and finally after a solid hour down she got up. We immediately walked her to the barn and she was doing ok. I kept her walking assuming colic and not wanting her to go down. Vet called me and said he could be there in an hour and a half. Miss F was getting done walking so we went backwards. We went in tight circles we did everything to keep her up. It was getting almost impossible and the vet showed up! Hallelujah!!! Gave her some pain meds and a sedative. Listened to her heart rate, gut, flushed water and some oil in her and did a rectal exam all leading to twisted gut. He left me with a pain killer and a sedative said to call and if he didn't hear from me he'd call when his shift was over at 8. We crossed our fingers for a miracle and said good bye. She stayed up and when he called right at 8 he said give her the pain meds before I go to bed and see what shes like in the morning. I didn't know what to hope for. Since it happened once she can colic again and that is just no fun especially when I don't live there and have the 2 girls. Maybe it would be better to... Nope just go with the flow. Don't say or think anything and let her tell us what to do. Went down and gave them around 1045, she looked tired, she was shaking, unsteady on her feet, blood shot eyes and cringing at my slightest touch. Say it with me now, EFFFFFFFFFF.......
Woke up January 1st 2013 She was still up, Keith and my dad very optimistic only because she was up. She was shaking, distressed and you could see the dozen times she had been rolling that night. She was pacing pacing because standing she was too unsteady, she was in pain and she was rolling a lot with paper white gums and tounge. I ran up got the other pain med/sedative for her and my phone. Gave the drugs and was leaving a message for our vet when the sedative, which should still allow her to stand, took affect and she literally fell to the ground. She then started to have a seizure with me DESPERATELY trying to get a hold of a vet to come put her down but as I finally got a hold of one, not mine but his partner at the clinic, she was gone, right before my eyes. After 15 years she was gone at 22 years old. She is great. She waited for me, just like my perfect J did.

So yes my favorite holiday is tainted, 2012 ended crappy and 2013 started even worse.

What's ironic is as I'm leaving the Of Monsters and Men song Mountain Sound came on and these are the lyrics: Hold your horses now/ We sleep until the sun goes down/ Through the woods we ran/ Deep into the mountain sound

She's here....

Well- yes she's here, but let's back track a bit...

Tuesday I had another appointment. When my doctor was checking me she said I had made some really good progress (perhaps because that Sunday and Monday I walked Spring Lake a 3+ mile walk with some hills) My cervix was efacing (?) I was dilated to 4cm and even more thinned out. However since we had been saying all month how she was going to come and she hadn't we made an appointment for me to get induced Saturday evening, my 41 week mark (this evening) and that was that. Off again to Spring Lake both Wednesday and Thursday- yes thanksgiving morning. That afternoon we went over to my parents for the holiday dinner, had a nice time came home and asleep around 11-1130. Well come 230 am I was woken up by a contraction but this one was different from the others and I knew it was happening however my next 2 or 3 were still 20-30 minutes apart. I figured we would be able to wake up normal time with Naomi, around 8, and then head to the hospital. About an hour in I had one that was a little more intense and I guess I was shaking the bed because it woke Keith up and when he heard how I was breathing he knew what was up. It was getting to the point that with the adrenaline I was so cold I was shivering and teeth rattling uncontrollably for a few minutes after a big contraction. I ended up jumping in the shower around 430ish because I didn't want greasy hair at the hospital which speed up my contractions. I was throwing up and other lovely details I'll spare you. At 5 I started calling my parents so they could stay here until Naomi woke up then take her to their place. Well apparently while Naomi was over there a few hours earlier she was playing with their corded land line in their bedroom so they unplugged it... dun dun DUUUUN! So for about 40 minutes I called their house until it went to message hung up and dialed again. We called other family but they didn't answer either, I called a girlfriend of mine who did answer but wasn't home or with her car. During this I had a contraction that I could have pushed and she was coming out. To say I was terrified would be an understatement. I nearly started to cry. Keith was about to wake Naomi up throw her in the car with us drive 20 minutes to my parents drop her off then back to the hospital. Oh and did I mention we were on empty?? I really didn't want to do that. For one I hate waking kids and two I didn't want her to see me in so much pain. I called my parents again, it was nearly 6 now, and eureka my dad answered! I had to throw the phone at Keith because I was having another contraction thankfully not one where she was coming out but intense all the same. We ended up leaving before my parents got there, hated to leave Naomi alone with the door unlocked but we HAD to get going. Got to the hospital around 6 and while still in the car I had another baby is coming contraction and it was all I could do to "hold her in" and I was loosing. Waddled in to the ER check in and had another baby coming contraction to which I loudly told the receptionist. With in 60 seconds I had a nurse with a wheel chair booking me up to labor and delivery me telling her I want an epidural and  her asking me questions like if this was my first and so on. I was immediately brought to a delivery room, asked more questions took forever for me to get from the wheel chair to my bed but in that quick leap I also managed to change in to the gown in one swoop! I had great staff. My doctor was also called. I was completely ready and baby was there. 10cm, efaced everything. So guess what they said about my epidural? Yup, too late... However I didn't have any back labor. The resident doctor (?) had a glove on and would not leave my side for fear she was just going to fall out. Other nurse was amazing I could barely move from pain so she most literally moved me and did what needed to be done, I couldn't pull my legs up so she did, she was a tough cookie, I kept saying I need an epidural even though I knew I couldn't have one and she was so sweet and said if it makes you feel better keep saying that, and you know what it did make me feel better. My doctor showed up and since the "action area" was being handled she was my cheerleader, totally love her. The doctors were blown away with the size of her head and after a few tough minutes she was finally out. At 6:38am less than 40 minutes after arriving she was here, no way would we had made it if we had to drive to Windsor get gas and back to Santa Rosa...When they told me she was 9 pounds 5 ounces I nearly fainted, no really, and had to ask again... I still can not believe I got her out with out an epidural and lived to tell the tale! They didn't need to cut me and I didn't tare that horribly. When I finally got her she started nursing perfectly. So from first contraction to wonderfully huge Paige Haley Gevas was 4 hours.
My mom and Naomi showed up a few hours later. Naomi was only so interested the first time but the second time she was all in to her saying "take this out" when she was in the crib calling her "mine" desperately wanting to show her the painting she did and wanting to hold her so well see. I'll get some pictures but I know a lot of people wanted to hear about it and yes I didn't get induced I would be heading to the hospital in about an hour and a half.

very short sadly

Another appointment today. Things are softening, thinning, lowering all like they should be. Basically everything thing is happening EXCEPT going in to labor! Once again well see if I last another week. Baby is healthy and doing well though. We have to keep reminding ourselves shes not late yet! Soon but not yet! Walking around the neighborhood, going up and down our killer stairs drinking cranberry juice (haha) getting my membranes torn weekly... there's only so much I can do, but like I said from the beginning- I am a firm believer babies come when they want to and when they are ready. Its just frustrating being teased over the past month! The other night I was contracting from 2am to 530am contractions lasting about 10 minutes or so then I would finally drift off to sleep just to have it all happen again, would have been fine if it would have lead to something but alas they stopped... It also will feel, sometimes, that shes trying to push through my cervix, not so much a pain but just really weird discomfort. But still no water breaking and no real contractions. *sigh* Well here I am at 39 weeks and 2 days...

We are also in the boat of not knowing what her name is again. Keith has backed out of Kalyn. I think that Keira might be back on the table but still nothing for certain. We will probably have to just wait and see what she looks like... sigh. Not my style but Keith's just not bonding with any name.

Well until either next weeks appointment or she finally comes...

#2 update

ok so short and sweet: over the past like 3 weeks I haven't put on any weight which I guess means baby is gaining and I'm loosing? at the same amount? I don't know. 2 appointments ago I was a tight 2 cm.and baby was very low. Last weeks appointment I was about 60% thinned out (and by that I mean my cervix) and was an easy 2.5 cm. Baby still very low and we started the membrane taring/ stripping. Today- still pregnant- I was a very easy 3cm, thinned out to a strong 70% and she only got up about one and a half finger joints before she felt baby's head! I have been having my intermediate contractions and while they have stayed random and inconsistent they have been getting stronger. They are more often in the evening/ night time sometimes waking and keeping me up. joyful. I did walk Spring Lake which is a little over 3 miles with hills yesterday pushing Naomi, which I haven't done since at least just before she was potty training so like 3+ months! I did ok considering. Naomi was perfect then later that day we played at the beach. Hoping that, along with the taring, will get this little girl out. At night I have been feeling either her knee or foot and its so small and so sweet I just can't wait. However it's also starting to get cold and also very hard to put socks on... hmmm hopefully she comes this week!
